The Solution
For this design we went with a fully enclosed chain wire shell with a fully enclosed soft net inner lining for a purpose built batting hit up area.
The chain wire outer shell is for protection of the inner soft net and a second barrier for safety with it being a baseball batting cage where balls are hit very hard repetitively.
The soft net inner lining is hung slightly loose with the strongest sports netting available to allow the netting to absorb majority of the balls force and drop the ball dead in its tracks.
The entire complex is built on a 100mm concrete slab covered by synthetic grass.
We are extremely happy with the outcome of the project as it meets all Australian safety standards, is purpose built, very functional for baseball hit ups and to top it all off its aesthetically pleasing.
