The Details
The Project
This is a recently completed project at the Virginia cricket club. City of Playford contacted us to upgrade the ageing cricket nets.
The Council and the cricket club requested that the facility be moved closer to the oval and in a more convenient location.
This involved some precise ground works to cut into a hill and make sure there was sufficient drainage, so that water did not sit on the synthetic surface.

The Solution
Site Preparation
We started the process with the demolition of the old complex including taking down the old Chain wire and removing old concrete slab.
Cricket Run-up
A run up of 40mm synthetic was installed for this job with a hardened rubble base to give the cricketers a good surface to run up on. This is something we have not done a lot of in the past but were extremely happy with the result, as were the cricket club.
Bollards Protect the Cricket Complex
The council were worried about the public being able to run over the pitch and destroy it as it is in quite a public area. Our solution was to install bollards to keep the complex safe, and aesthetically appealing.
Retractable cricket nets & synthetic grass
Finally the complex is completely covered in synthetic grass with retractable nets with lockable boxes to allow for a multi-use space for football/soccer/cricket to get use out of the complex, this is great for community-driven clubs with a lot of members.
A great result!
Overall, all parties were very happy with the result and the cricket players especially could not wait to start using it.
All parties communicated well together on this project which made it very easy to come up with a complex that all were happy with.
